I joined Steer as a graduate in 2016 after finishing my Masters degree in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. The whole recruitment process was transparent and straightforward, which I found beneficial as I was still studying at the time. After my first interview, I was invited for coffee with someone who had recently joined the Graduate Scheme. This was invaluable for me because I was able to learn more about the company culture, the people and the type of work Steer do through a relaxed, sincere conversation.
Throughout the one-day assessment centre, I found the assessors were very friendly, willing to share their experience of the company and were genuinely interested in us as individuals, making the recruitment process stress-free and interactive.
The Graduate Scheme is well-structured, and the training courses are engaging for all graduates, no matter what their academic background. After the training courses, I felt confident that I was fully equipped with the right technical skills and theory to apply them to the projects I was working on.
Everyone at Steer is extremely passionate about knowledge sharing and I learnt a huge amount in the first few months of working here. I even got to demonstrate my newly learnt Excel skills by delivering two training sessions to the latest group of graduates, which was a really exciting opportunity.
